ASHLEY

Ashley Mitlyng, architect and founder of Mitlyng Design, speaks the language of home. For the past 20 years, she’s been listening to the histories of homes and neighborhoods and helping define the soul of home. Together with a team of talented designers, Mitlyng Design works with the homeowners’ vision for how they want to live. Our designs draw out those elements in an approach that is respectful of character, beautifully functional, and efficiently purposeful.

KATIE

Katie Loecken, associate architect, has been designing residential architecture for the last decade. She was a recipient of the Richard Morrill Award for her Masters Final Project as well as a Design Democracy Fellowship winner while receiving her Masters in Architecture from the University of Minnesota.

“Relational design with our clients is what makes residential architecture especially rewarding. It is an honor and joy to be invited into people’s lives and homes. We not only have the opportunity to build relationships with the families we serve, but we have the privilege to transform their lives through the spaces they “do life” in.” - Katie

Eden

Eden Garton, architect, has been designing with the Mitlyng team for 3 years. She is a graduate of the the University of Minnesota; her 2021 Masters Final Project focused on the relationships between residential typologies within neighborhoods. When Eden is not working, she is likely working on projects to her 1950s St. Paul Home alongside her wife and trusty beagle.

“I fall in love with every home I step foot in – eager to visualize how the space can work for our clients and reflect their unique personalities.” – Eden
