Modern Cedar

Story

This 1980’s home was closed off from the natural surroundings. The new warm modern design not only mixes old with new, it optimizes daylight focusing on stunning views of Cedar Lake from the living space and master bedroom. The home showcases fun pops of interest from reclaimed lumber, a children’s loft and dual mudrooms. The addition & remodeling allows all bedrooms to be on the upper level.  The family of six now has a home that supports game night, cozy seating around a fire, dinner parties and intimate homework areas while nestled in the trees of Cedar Lake.

The previous kitchen, buried in the middle of the house, was simultaneously central and isolated from its surrounding areas. At the core of this renovation, the kitchen has been transformed into the focal point around which the entire home revolves.
